washing

guide

+ Brush extensions prior to showering to prevent tangling and matting. Use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to prolong your hair and extensions color. Shampoo gently between rows; no need for vigorous scrubbing. Always shampoo twice. + If you have hard water in your home, invest in a hard water shower head filter. Hard water will discolor and dry out extensions. + Use hair masque every other week to keep your extensions hydrated. Use leave in and serum after washing and before brushing with a wet brush. + When brushing wet hair, start from your ends and work your way to the scalp. Hold the hair in one hand, pinched like a ponytail, and brush down. + After a few washes, the extension hair will expand and take on a more realistic hair texture. Use professional products approved by me to maintain the health of your extensions.

blowdrying

Rough dry your hair to 80% dry with just your fingers. You can use a round brush and a small amount of tension to smooth your hair and the extensions the last few minutes of your blowdry.

heat protectant

Use heat protectant anytime you are using heat of any kind and use and oil every day. Many of Mr. Smith's styling and treatment products have built in heat and UV protection.

As a general rule of thumb, brush your hair three times per day with a wet brush. To protect the base of the weft, place a finger over it when brushing.

brushing

sleeping

guide

Prior to getting into bed, brush your hair and then place in a loose bun, ponytail or braid. Do not, under any circumstance, fall asleep with wet hair. This can cause extreme tangling and matting and cause the base of your wefts to swell. In fact, it is always best to blow dry anytime your hair is wet, including sweat.

TIP: INVEST IN A SILK PILLOW CASE TO KEEP YOUR EXTENSIONS FROM DRYING OUT. YOUR HAIR AND YOUR SKIN WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT
